Pay ahead or pay at the chair

Prepay is optional. The visit is held either way, and a paid sale stays with the barber you booked.

The card can run when you book, or it can run when you are in the chair. The visit is held either way. Prepay is a choice, not a toll. Card, Apple Pay, and the other wallets go through Square, on the floor and on the mobile book. Skipping the card does not delete the appointment. Paying early does not buy a different haircut. It only settles the money sooner.

A prepaid sale is assigned to the barber you booked. That is how the house tracks commission. The tip on that payment goes with the same chair. If you meant the sale to land on a particular person, book that person. A slot marked for one chair and paid against another is a bookkeeping problem you do not need. It is avoided by letting the original payment stay where the calendar put it.

If the site already shows the visit as paid, the floor does not take the money a second time. Say so when you sit if the screen in front of you looks blank. The record is on the booking, not in a second swipe done "just to be sure." A double charge is slow to unwind. A sentence at the start of the cut prevents it. The same rule holds in the van: paid means paid, including the tip that rode with that sale.

If you skipped the card, the visit is settled when you are in the chair. Bring the way you actually pay. A wallet that fails in a driveway, with the next stop already on the route, puts both of you in a small mess that could have been handled the night before. Prepay is useful on mobile days for that reason alone. It is still not required. Paying at the chair remains a normal way to close a visit on the Miami floor.

Variable work is not a zero and not a prepaid flat fee. Design, and anything else the menu marks variable, is priced after the work is seen. You can book it without a made-up number sitting in the cart. If you want to pay ahead, pay the part of the visit that already has a price, and let the variable piece be settled when the chair can see the hair. Reading "variable" as "free" is a misread of the page.

Tips follow the same chair as the sale. If you tipped on the prepaid ticket, that tip is already with the barber who was booked. You do not owe a second tip to prove the first one counted, and nothing stops you from adding more in the chair if the work earned it. What you should not do is hand a tip to a different person for a sale assigned elsewhere and assume the house will sort the split after you leave.

The book you pay on is the book you sit. A floor appointment at 11735 SW 147th Ave, Unit 27, is not a credit toward RP Mobile, and a van visit is not a deposit on the room. Same house, two books, two Google profiles. Money follows the appointment the way a review should. If the place changes, cancel or move the original and book the other. Do not ask a prepaid hour to travel across town.

A barber who is off does not appear on the calendar, so you cannot prepay a chair that was never offered. Square shows the people who are working. If your usual chair is dark that day, the open names are the real choices. Paying ahead for someone who is not listed will not conjure them. Pick a working chair, or pick another day. The floor phone, (305) 385-0306, can answer a question about the room. It does not override a closed column on the book.

Read the notes and the price line together before you pay. A fade plus a beard is a different ticket from a neck cleanup. If the service is thinner than the work you described, fix the service before the card runs. Notes tell the chair what to cut. They do not silently upgrade the amount being charged. The two fields have to agree, or the prepaid total will not match the hour you thought you bought.

Keep the receipt with the appointment. If a card fails, or a tip needs a correction, the booking is the reference, not a memory of which wallet you tapped. Pay ahead when you want the visit closed before you leave the house. Pay at the chair when you want to see the work first. Either one holds the time. Neither one changes the cut, the barber, or the shop you already chose.
